Phenomenon
Sensor and camera artifacts
An object that exists in the imaging chain rather than in the sky: lens glare, bokeh, rolling shutter, gimbal rotation, compression blocking or dead-pixel tracking.
How it presents
- Apparent shape matches the aperture geometry of the optic.
- Motion mirrors the operator's slew rather than an independent track.
- Effect vanishes on a second, differently built sensor viewing the same scene.
What this explanation does not settle
An artifact finding applies to the imagery examined. It says nothing about a radar or acoustic return recorded on the same event.
