Methodology
The Fatigue Index sums five weighted schedule stressors on a 0–100 scale. Weights are drawn from published circadian and travel-density literature and are visible in the breakdown above.
Circadian. Eastward travel is scored 1.4× a westward equivalent — the peer-reviewed mismatch between advancing and delaying the phase of the body clock.
Performance mapping. Index scales linearly to a 0–5% expected team-efficiency decrement, consistent with observed spreads in NBA and MLB back-to-back / long-flight studies.
