Erik Chambers
Founder, Creator & Editorial Architect
Erik Chambers created Second City Standard as a platform for questions that do not fit cleanly inside traditional categories. His work connects sports, science, mathematics, history, leadership, business, human performance, and lived experience.
Positioning
Erik Chambers is the founder, creator, and editorial architect of Second City Standard. He does not present himself as a traditionally trained journalist or career writer. His work begins with questions, theories, comparisons, observations, and connections across sports, science, mathematics, history, business, leadership, and human performance.
Erik develops the original concepts, directs the investigations, challenges conventional explanations, shapes the arguments, reviews the evidence, and approves the final editorial position. Second City Standard then uses a balanced combination of research, professional writing, editing, subject expertise, data analysis, visual design, and transparent AI assistance to turn those ideas into complete editorial experiences.
The purpose is not to replace writers or surrender the work to automation. It is to combine the best available human and technological tools to create content that is more accurate, more thoughtful, more useful, and more honest about how it was made.
In his own words
I am not claiming to be a traditionally trained journalist or professional writer.
I am a creator.
I build ideas. I ask questions. I look for patterns. I connect sports to science, numbers to history, leadership to performance, and public narratives to the evidence beneath them.
I understand that a strong idea is not automatically a finished article. That is why Second City Standard openly embraces writers, researchers, editors, experts, designers, data, and artificial intelligence.
I do not believe we have to choose one and reject the others.
The goal is balance.
The idea may begin with me. A writer may sharpen the language. A researcher may uncover evidence I missed. An expert may challenge the science. Data may contradict the argument. AI may help organize, compare, edit, or identify gaps. Then the work comes back through human judgment before it is published.
Consumers are smarter than they have ever been. They deserve more than recycled opinions, empty content, and automated volume.
They deserve our best thinking — tested from every direction.
