Analysis
Long-form investigations built on evidence, film, history, and honest counterargument. Every Analysis begins with a question — never a conclusion.

An Analysis is our long form. It is not a hot take, a recap, or a reaction. It is a sustained argument built one piece of evidence at a time, held to the same editorial standard whether the subject is a Sunday afternoon in September or the future of an entire league.
We publish an Analysis when a question is worth answering carefully and when we believe our answer will still be worth reading years from now.
Every Analysis begins with a question — never a conclusion.
What lives inside every Analysis
- Long-form investigations that take the reader from question to conclusion.
- Evidence before opinion — cited, verifiable, and specific.
- Film study when the subject is technical or tactical.
- Historical context so today's story is not the whole story.
- Advanced metrics used honestly, with their limits acknowledged.
- The strongest counterargument, presented fairly before it is answered.
- A clear conclusion — and a clear statement of what remains uncertain.
- Original reporting when the story requires more than the public record.
The Standards Framework
Every Analysis moves through the same eight stages. They are visible in the piece itself — you can read for them and you can hold us to them.
- Question. The real question, stated plainly.
- Evidence. What we know, cited to the source.
- Historical Context. How we got here.
- Analytics. The numbers that matter, and why.
- Counterarguments. The strongest opposing view.
- Unknowns. What we cannot answer today.
- The Standard. What excellent looks like on this question.
- What’s Next. What to watch for, and when to revisit.
What we will not publish under this banner
- Reactions dressed up as analysis.
- Anonymous rumor presented as reporting.
- Certainty we have not earned.
- Argument by volume instead of argument by evidence.
